FAQs
Could you tell me about yourself?
I am a qualified primary school teacher, with experience teaching from Reception to Year Six. I have been tutoring privately in the Lake District for many years, where I developed an excellent reputation and a waiting list. (Read my testimonials to find out how I have helped specific children to make progress with their learning.)
I moved to Warwickshire in September 2011 after my husband relocated to work at St. Mary's Church, Warwick.
Are you CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checked?
Yes. I carry an enhanced CRB disclosure, which means I am recognised by law to care for, supervise, train or be in sole charge of children or vulnerable people. I also have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) under the General Teaching Council, the governing body for teachers.
How much do tutoring sessions cost?
Sessions are only £20, although significant discounts are available for block payment and children on free school meals – just ask.
Where will the tutoring sessions take place?
The tutoring sessions will take place at my Kenilworth home (4 Queen's Close, just off Warwick Road), which has a warm atmosphere and plenty of room.
Do I need to come along to the tutoring sessions?
If you would like to sit in on the tutoring sessions, you are more than welcome. However, there is no need to accompany your child.
Space is available for parents to wait, but most take advantage of the three supermarkets around the corner and other nearby shops.
Can you provide home visits?
Unfortunately, I cannot provide home visits.
When are the tutoring sessions scheduled?
I have some weekend and evening slots open, at various times.
Does my child have to come every week?
To see real progress, I advise weekly sessions, plus supplementary home study. In light of this, I offer discounts for block payment.
However, there is no pressure and no long-term commitment is necessary.
