Mrs Swinton is a member of the British Dyslexia Association and an expert in Specific Learning Difficulties.


Areas of expertise

Mrs Swinton has tutored children with dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia; children on the autistic spectrum; and children with disabilities.

Teaching approach

Mrs Swinton's teaching methods are based on knowledge gleaned from specialist training, conferences, extensive reading and years of teaching children of all ages and abilities.

Her fun, multi-sensory approach to teaching children to read and write fluently builds on children's interests, boosts their confidence and engages them through a range of focussed activities and games.

She has helped children to improve their skills in common weak areas, including:

  • Organisation and study skills

Support for teenagers and adults

While most of Mrs Swinton's tutees are primary-aged, she also tutors teenagers, college/university students and adults with learning difficulties.
